There are two ways to recruit responses with Lyssna. From your own audience or by ordering responses from the Lyssna panel. This article focuses on ordering responses from the panel.
You can order as few as 5 responses and as many as 10,000 when ordering from our panel.
How to place an order
Navigate to the Recruit tab for the test on which you wish to place an order. You can also access the recruitment page via the dashboard by clicking the Recruit participants button directly from your test.
Select Place an order from the panel recruitment box.
Select the number of participants and the demographic targeting you need.
If your test has a screener enabled, select your estimated screen-in rate to continue.
Review your costs and estimated completion time, then submit your order.
We’ll provide an estimate of how long it will take us to provide these responses in real-time as you make your changes. For common demographics, you should start receiving responses within a minute or two.
Paying for your order
Order prices are calculated in credits. You can pay for each order as you place it, or pre-purchase a larger volume of credits for your Lyssna account which you and your collaborators can spend on response orders anytime.
Your order will automatically use available credits in your account. If additional credits are required you will be prompted to purchase them to complete your order.
Order turnaround time
On average, you can expect to receive 50 responses in under two hours for common demographics, and within 30 minutes for untargeted orders.
Response times vary depending on:
The time of day, and day of the week. Weekdays are faster than weekends.
Your test's language. Tests in languages other than English can experience longer wait times.
The demographics you specified, if any.
Take note of the estimated duration for results to arrive is provided for your order as you change the demographic target.
Quality assurance
Unmoderated tests
In order to maintain the integrity of the Lyssna panel and continue providing you with accurate data, we employ manual quality checks on every response that has been ordered from the panel. This practice is an internal one only—its purpose is to weed out the bad actors and prevent them from participating in future tests.
These quality checks are typically completed within a day, but you will often see your results before our quality team is able to assess them. Therefore, if you notice you have received spammy, vulgar, copy/pasted, AI-generated, or otherwise poor responses, you will need to delete them from your results to receive an automatic free replacement.
Interviews
Since your interview is conducted via your meeting software of choice—and we cannot access it without an uploaded recording—we do not proactively review interview sessions for quality. We highly recommend you record every session in the event you need to report an issue with a member of the Lyssna panel.
If you encounter a Lyssna panelist who has not been honest in their profile or screener responses, or otherwise conducts themselves in a dishonest or unprofessional manner, you can report the session and upload the recording for our Support team to review. If the panelist is found to not be acting in good faith, they will lose the incentive and we will reopen that session for another applicant to book with you at no charge. It may also impact that panelist's ability to participate in future interviews, and depending on the level of egregiousness, may ban them from the Lyssna panel altogether.
Rating responses
Once your panel order is complete, you will have the option to rate the overall quality of your responses. From your Results page, click Rate responses:
Select the score that most represents your level of satisfaction and optionally provide written feedback. If there are individual responses of low quality, consider reporting them to receive an automatic free replacement.
If you are unhappy with the overall quality of your responses, you can also easily get in touch with our Support team who will investigate further.
Common questions
Who is on the Lyssna panel?
Our panelists are diverse in age, education, gender, and location. Collectively they represent 120+ countries and 55 languages.
Will panelists be unique across all of my tests?
By default, we don't offer unique panelists for each of your tests—all panelists that match your selected demographics can potentially receive an invite to take your future tests, even if they've taken another of your tests in the past. Grouping similar tests in Variation Sets before placing your panel orders ensures that participants across all tests in the set are unique, eliminating biases from previous tests.

What if I don't have enough credits for my order?
Your order will automatically use available credits in your account. If additional credits are required you will be prompted to purchase them to complete your order.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Once placed, an order can not be changed, but you can cancel your order anytime via the Recruit tab of your test. Note, credits for the remainder of the order will be automatically refunded when your order is canceled but credits used before you cancel will not be.
I placed an order but responses are coming in slowly. Why?
We understand that in some cases it might seem like the responses are taking a bit of time to roll in. This could be because the specific target group you've chosen for your test might be narrowing down the options a bit. The more specific you are about who you're looking for, it might mean there's a smaller group to draw from.
But no worries! We're right here to make sure you get the responses you need. Our platform will automatically keep sending your test out to panelists who fit your requirements until your order is completed.
Article: How long will results take?
Can I place more than one order on a test?
You can place multiple orders in one test without any limitations. Each order will only recruit panelists who have not already responded to the same test, ensuring unique panelists for every order you place on that test.
How can I get a specific proportion of demographics?
To recruit a specific ratio of users by demographic, you'll need to place seprate orders for each group.
For example, if you want 100 participants from USA/Canada with a 50-50 split, you would place one order for 50 participants from the USA and the second order for 50 participants from Canada.

Can I order more than 10,000 responses?

Where do you source the participants on the Lyssna panel?
