Test results can be exported to CSV format and shared using a unique link.
Anybody you share the link with can access the results for that particular test—they don't need a Lyssna account login. This link does not grant access to change anything or allow access to any other tests in your account.
It is free to share your results using your test's unique share link, but raw data exports to CSV are available on our paid plans.
How to share your results in full
Click the Results tab of your test.
At the top of your test results, select the Share results button.
Ensure the toggle is set to Link active and then click Copy to save it to your clipboard and paste it to your destination.
How to copy/paste written responses for sharing
If you want to copy/paste only the written responses from your results into another tool, you can do that straight from the Results page instead of having to export them first.
Look for the copy icon in the top right corner of any written-response question in your results:
Clicking it will select and copy all responses. Alternatively, you can select the desired responses by ticking the boxes next to them and then click Copy responses at the bottom of the page.
How the responses paste depends on the tool you're pasting into:
In most tools, responses will paste as a list
In Figma, each response will paste as an individual sticky note, making it easy to use your results directly in a workshop or affinity mapping session
How to export results as a CSV
At the top of the test results, select the Export as CSV button:
2. A modal will pop up asking what you'd like to include in your export:
Sections to export: all sections of your study will be selected by default, or you can choose specific sections from the drop-down if you prefer to view results only from those.
Demographic data: if you've recruited from the Lyssna panel, your export will include basic demographic details (age, gender, education level, and technical proficiency) as well as any additional demographics you targeted. If you've recruited from your own audience, it will only include the answers to the demographic questions you selected when enabling your share link. You can either export all demographic details, or choose the ones you want to see from the drop-down.
Custom variables: if you added custom variables for identifying your self-recruited audience, you can select this option to export those identifiers alongside your results.
Recording transcripts: if you've included recorded sections in your test, you can select this option to include the transcripts in your export. You'll receive verbatim transcripts, and if you've used AI follow up questions with summaries, you'll receive transcript summaries in the CSV as well.
Task durations: this is selected by default, but you can untick this option if you don't need this information.
Tags applied to open-text responses: these are always included in the export. Each tag appears as a separate column alongside the response to which it was applied.
3. Click Export and your file will download automatically.
If you're using Excel to open the CSV export, set the 'File origin' to '65001: Unicode (UTF-8)' to ensure all characters appear correctly.
Bulk export of multiple tests is not currently available.
Interpreting your CSV
Column A: Date and time submitted
Column B: Total test duration (in milliseconds)
Columns C-L: Participant demographics
Columns M-P: Participant device information
Column Q onward: Answer and instruction/task duration (in milliseconds) for each of your tasks and/or questions
Note: Clicks for Click tests and Navigation tests will be represented as a decimal in your CSV, each with an X value and a Y value. This indicates the percentage from the left edge of the image (X) and the top edge of the image (Y) where the click landed. You may benefit from exporting these types of tests as images.
Exporting your results as a visualization
Custom results visualization exports are available for Survey question test sections and follow-up questions that require short & long text, single select, or multi-select responses. The following test sections/questions allow for visual results exporting as well:
From the Results page of your test, you'll select the download arrow next to the section you want to export, and then click Customize. From here, you'll have the option to customize your results visualization including or excluding details like headings, legends, and more. The results can then be downloaded to your device or copied to your clipboard.

Common questions
Can I combine results from multiple tests for a side-by-side comparison?
Our platform doesn't currently offer a feature to combine and compare results from multiple tests. If you need to consolidate results across different tests, we recommend exporting your results from each test as a CSV and then merging them using third-party software, such as a spreadsheet.
